Our History
Established in 1956, the Lexington Scholarship Fund is one of several community-created funds managed by the Trustees of Public Trusts for the Town of Lexington, Massachusetts (MA), each dedicated to improving life in our town. The Fund supports students at Lexington High School, Minuteman High School, and Lexington Christian Academy with primarily need-based scholarships, many named in honor or memory of loved ones.
Each year, the LSF committee reviews applications, conducts interviews, and matches students with scholarships. Students may reapply in subsequent years and are often supported through the completion of their degree programs. Every June, an Awards Ceremony brings students and donors together before freshman year—and, for those who reapply, again each year until graduation.
Â
Since 1910, the Trustees of Public Trusts have helped Lexington residents support local causes, manage fund distributions, and honor the wishes of founding families. These endowments exist in perpetuity and are governed by the town at no cost to the Trustees.
Need-Based Support
Merit-Based Support
The majority of Lexington Scholarship Fund awards are need-based, helping students whose families have limited financial resources.
A smaller number of scholarships are merit-based, with one current award recognizing exceptional academic performance and service.
